Aftercare
Proper aftercare helps protect your results and keeps the treated area comfortable. Please follow the guidance for your service below, along with any personalized instructions provided during your appointment.
Manicures and Pedicures Aftercare
- Apply cuticle oil or cream daily and moisturize your hands and feet to keep the skin and nails hydrated.
- Dry your hands and feet thoroughly after washing or bathing.
- Do not pick or tear at your nails. Clip or file them carefully as needed.
- Wear gloves when cleaning, washing dishes or gardening to protect your hands and nails.
Gel Polish, PolyGel, Dip Powder and Nail Extensions Aftercare
- Treat your nails gently and never use them as tools to open, scrape or lift objects.
- Wear gloves when washing dishes, cleaning or gardening to protect your nails from prolonged water exposure and household chemicals.
- Apply cuticle oil daily and moisturize your hands regularly.
- Never pick, peel or bite off gel polish or nail enhancements, as this can damage and thin the natural nail.
- If lifting or chipping occurs, do not glue or attempt to repair the nail yourself. Contact The Little Day Spa for advice or a repair appointment.
- Always have gel polish and nail enhancements professionally removed.
- Book your maintenance or removal appointment within the timeframe recommended during your service.
Waxing Aftercare
- Mild redness, tenderness or sensitivity can occur after waxing and should gradually settle within 24–48 hours.
- Keep the treated area clean and avoid unnecessary touching, rubbing or scratching.
- For the first 24–48 hours, avoid very hot baths or showers, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, swimming pools, tanning and strenuous exercise.
- Avoid tight clothing and excessive friction over the waxed area.
- Do not apply fragranced lotions, deodorant, body spray or makeup to the area for the first 24 hours unless otherwise advised.
- Apply a clean, cool compress if the area feels warm or uncomfortable.
- Once the skin is calm, usually after 48 hours, moisturize regularly and exfoliate gently one or two times per week to help reduce ingrown hairs.
• • For consistent results, regular waxing is generally recommended every four to six weeks.
Facials Aftercare
- Some temporary redness or sensitivity can occur, depending on the treatment performed.
- Avoid touching, rubbing, picking or peeling the skin.
- Cleanse gently with lukewarm water and a mild cleanser, then apply a gentle moisturizer.
- For the first 24 hours, avoid makeup where possible, strenuous exercise, excessive heat, steam rooms, saunas and hot tubs.
- Avoid direct sun exposure and apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher every day.
- Avoid facial scrubs, exfoliating acids, retinoids and other strong active products for 48–72 hours, or until the skin no longer feels sensitive.
- Do not wax or undergo another exfoliating facial treatment until the skin has returned to normal.
- If your facial included a peel or another advanced treatment, follow the personalized instructions provided during your appointment.
Gentle cleansing, moisturizing and daily sun protection are consistent with dermatology and professional post-treatment guidance.
Lash Lifting and Tinting/ Brow Tinting and Lamination Aftercare
- For the first 24 hours, avoid excessive heat, steam, heavy sweating and prolonged water exposure.
- Do not rub, pull or sleep directly on your lashes or brows.
- Wait 24 hours before applying mascara, brow makeup or rich creams around the treated area unless otherwise advised.
- Avoid waterproof mascara and heavy oil-based products around the lashes and brows, as they may cause the tint to fade more quickly.
- Gently brush your lashes or brows into place each day using a clean spoolie.
- Do not use an eyelash curler following a lash lift.
- After the first 24 hours, apply a recommended conditioning lash or brow serum regularly to keep the hairs moisturized.
- Wait at least six to eight weeks between lash lifts or brow laminations, unless otherwise recommended.
Exact water instructions can differ between treatment systems; current Elleebana guidance says water itself does not undo a lash lift, while heat, steam and heavy products should be avoided initially.
Makeup After Care
- Avoid unnecessarily touching, rubbing or wiping your face to help your makeup last.
- If your skin becomes oily, gently blot it with blotting paper or a clean tissue before applying a small amount of powder.
- Touch up lipstick using a clean lip brush or applicator.
- Avoid excessive heat, steam and water, which may cause makeup to wear or transfer.
- Remove all makeup before going to bed using a gentle makeup remover and facial cleanser.
- To remove strip lashes, soften the adhesive with eye-makeup remover and gently remove the lash from the outer corner. Never pull forcefully.
- If irritation occurs, remove the makeup gently and stop using any product that may have caused the reaction.
